The Olive tree stands tall and proud.
My World serene – Of green and brown.
A wide leafy shroud,
That vibrant shade of life.
The way It flourishes through sun and rain,
A sign of hope and happiness – a tight warm embrace.
This Olive shines brightly so in good ol’ summer rays,
And cuddles us snug in the coldest wintry days.
This Olive shelters from the deluge and raging tempests.
This Olive is a touch that soothes, a kiss that heals.
This Olive, or rather, The Olive –
Sometimes limps ever so sullenly.
Because,
As one bird sings,
The other wallows.
Yet, The Olive endures,
O’ ever so rightly so!
Through every ebb, and every flow,
It fosters, It reaps, It sows.
The Olive, a bond beyond compare.
A connection deep within, one which holds no spare.
A memory to hold in every peel and every bite –
Lasting, never too long,
Growing, never too old.
Enduringly precious is a finding rare,
Friendly discourse evolved into lifelong tears.
Of Glee, of Sorrow,
Of Fervour, of Fear.
May It continue to grow, to give and to shine.
The Olive transcends through air and time,
Forever and ever, and ever entwined…
